• CARBONO AZUL UICN

The Life Blue Natura project celebrates the second meeting of the Advisory Group, an expert meeting in the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park with the aim of advancing in the identification of a catalog of compensation projects around coastal ecosystems for inclusion in the new Law on Climate Change.

This meeting, organized by IUCN-Med, partners of the project, has been fundamental to achieve the final objectives of the LIFE Blue Natura project, and has focused on how to improve the CO2 absorption capacity of the marsh ecosystems in two Andalusian areas included in the project: the marshes of the Bay of Cádiz and the Odiel marshlands. In this meeting, more than 15 experts from different organizations have come together to define what types of projects can be defined for the conservation and restoration of these ecosystems and their service as blue carbon sink.
